Document Description

notice to a landlord

The notice to a landlord is a solicitor approved letter for ending an assured shorthold tenancy in England.  The notice can be used to end a fixed or periodic tenancy or to request early termination (surrender) of a tenancy.

The notice to quit letter allows you to include the following;

  • Your name and address

  • Your Landlord’s name and address

  • The date your notice period ends

  • A forwarding address

  • A request for tenancy documentation such as the tenancy agreement or deposit details

  • A reason for a request to terminate the tenancy early (if applicable)

The notice letter helps you ensure you have given written notice to end your tenancy and avoid the risks associated with abandonment.
